I have a 1992 explorer 2wd 4.0 stick , It will idle fine but as soon as you press the throttle it sounds like its out of gas, if you throttle really slow you can get it to build some rpms. it has a new throttle position sencer, fuel pump and filter. put it on the scanner and it checks out fine does anybody have any idea,s Thank you.

First thing I'd probably do if it sounds like it's "out of gas" would be to put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what fuel delivery is doing.

had a friend check fuel pressure and he said it was were it should be sorry i didnt list that.

I'd check your injectors to make sure they aren't clogged. That could cause the symptoms you are describing.

Also check all vacuum lines and PCV valve.

thanks for the input , ive checked most of these things with no luck ,still pulling my hair out

My inclination is to assume that your friend checked the pressure correctly, but I don't know if that's a good assumption. Did he check the pressure while revving the engine to make sure fuel delivery could keep up with engine demand? Sometimes, it helps to rig up the gauge so you can monitor fuel pressure while driving to see if the fuel pressure is dropping off while accelerating.
