Add a Leaf

Okay, I did a search and came up with an ungodly number of responses... What I need to know is what add a leafs fit our rigs, or mine I guess... I have a 96 V8 AWD... I'd like reccomendations on brands and why you like that one... Also if you can give me an idea on price and where to get them... I'm guessing 4wheelparts, but there has to be something cheaper out there..

summitracing.com! something like $36 shipped. ProComp p/n 13120. They gave me 1 5/8" of lift and I couldnt be happier with them.

will that fit a 2001 also? was it hard to install.. i did the shackles my self.. how hard is the add-a-leaf to install?

Yeah.. they'll fit an 01 too. They're very easy to install. If you can do shackles, you can too AALs. All you have to do is unbolt the other end of the leafs, and take out the u-bolts. The leafs will be a little bit harder to get back into place than they were when you did the shackles. But they're well worth it!

I had to call to get it. I asked for the different prices, and they had three, the explorer pro comp one, a skyjacker, and a double, that I can't remember the brand, also remind them of free shipping, there is an up charge though, but still not bad for prices. I think total to my door was around 34.00's.

BUT, I just checked my reciept and found it was $34.94 to my door. Plus, I know summits shipping and customer service is MUCH better than 4wheelparts.

Yea just ordered the Explorer Pro Comps (13120) the other day from summit. They told me $26.95 for them. Said free shipping but added a handling charge. Careful if you call them to order first guy tried to tell me that they wouldn't fit my 99 and I had to call Pro Comp to make sure. 4wheel parts service guy I talked to tried to tell me they didn't make anything like that

I have experience with both the single and double ProComp kits. Both are great kits. Single gives about an inch, double about 2-2.25". Single, $27; Double $75: 4WP.

How did you find the double add a leaf for ride ?...I am looking to raise my X 2", so if I can do it with add a leaf and torsion twist I will be happy

Im also pondering this... when i did my shackles i did not need to do a TT cause the shackles just leveled the truck out doto the sag.. i had to take my shackles off for war work and i need to put them back on.. im pondering leaving them on till i do this and i will do it all at once.. i dont know.. input anyone?

RangerX and I put the double aal on his wife's 92 Sport. The ride was great! Stiffer than stock but ride and handling actually seemed improved.
