Add oem wireless charger

O/p, is the wireless charger charger not a feature on the XLT ? I discovered that one must have an extremely thin case phone case for it to function. I had to go to my local AT&T store and purchase one designed for wireless charging. Evidently, my original high end Speck case was too thick. Also, the notification on the screen is not only tiny, it is gone in a heartbeat.

Negative. Looks like it is on the Limited and up.

Just a PSA for anyone planning on getting the 12 Pro Max. The phone will fit, but it definitely won’t work with an Apple Battery Case or equivalent. The 12 Pro Max is .045” smaller height-wise than the charger will support. My current XS Pro Max works with the battery case installed. I started wondering this last night after I saw pics that they changed the dimensions. Thank you Apple for decided that we need a taller, but less width phone. Personally, I love the induction charger. I bought a wireless CarPlay adapter and love not having any loose cables in my truck. I drop the phone in and forget about it. It’s an elegant solution I didn’t realize I would really, really like.

Hi, Do you have a Parts list ? thanks in advance..

I listed the charging part in post 1, but I’m not sure if there is even power or a cord to plug in. Someone would need to remove the center console and verify

Im in same boat as you, drives me nuts I cant use wireless charger. Poorly executed yet again, if you look at some of the competition the wireless charging pads are almost big enough to fit an iPad mini. I have passed on my frustrations to several on the engineering team but unlikely we will see a retooling and new part. Can you post the link to the wireless CarPlay adapter you found, I may wish to try that as well.

I was wondering i think there is a cable attached to it. I found a Part number of JL1Z-14D202-MA can anyone confirm this ?

If you check the fitment that part does not fit the Explorer.

I know this is an old thread, but I thought folks might like this option. I have an XLT that didn't include the center armrest charger. I picked up a rubber charging pad from Amazon and it fits nicely in the space. It seems pretty grippy and looks like it will stay in place without any adhesive. It's rated as a 15W fast charger. It's also relatively thin at ~ 1/4 inch and leaves plenty of room for a phone. It comes with an outer holder for the phone, but I didn't bother with that part. Also includes a 36W 12V adapter that has both USB-C and USB-A ports on it.

Pros:
- Fast Charger
- Relatively cheap ($25)
- Easy to install; don't have to take apart the new car.
- Fits well
- Includes adapter
- Looks nice enough

Cons:
- Random Amazon Chinese made charger. Reliability???

Well done it's better executed then the OEM solution......but will the big phones with a case fit?

Well ... that depends. There is still 1/2" of depth. Enough for a slim case. An otterbox defender series - not so much!

That won't do anything for us that have bigger phones like my Note 20 Ultra. However, this should work:
