I just bought a '03 XLT 4x4 and we have decided that we NEED running boards as our 2 yr old has to work really hard to get up to her seat (plus it would look pretty sweet)

...a few questions for ya:

*do we HAVE to get them from the dealer (*gulp* $400!) or can I get them from a site like this:
black running boards

*if we do not get them from the dealer, can my hubby install them easily (he is no stranger to a drill, but he is definitely no one you would find on Monster Garage)

TIA, Steph

;)

It says "easy bolt on" , so it shouldn't be a problem....

Here's an idea... why don't you lower the whole truck 2"? This way your 2 year old could climb up easier plus you could have a good looking truck that handles great.

Never mind me. I'm always trying to get people to lower their trucks.;)

Welcome to the site! No, you do not have to get them from the dealer. Your husband should have no problem if he takes his time and has the right tools.

You can also check e-bay. There's often cheap even OEM boards on there...

Thanks very much for your replies! I think we are gonna go ahead and get them then!

I checked out ebay and didn't find any, but will keep checking or order from the link I posted above!
