So I have decided to jack my 91 XL 4x4 up a bit, I think it will help considering I live in a place where there is snow 7-8 months out of the year. I also will be using it for camping and fishing in moderately remote areas. I won't be using for mudding or heavy off-road driving. I need recommendations on where to start with this minor lift, I don't want to buy junk, I'm willing to spend a few bucks to do it right. Any advice on the parts I need would be greatly appreciated. :us:

thats a good place to live man i love west yellowstone...ive been tryin to find a lift for my 93 explorer xlt and found a couple places but it depends on how you wanna lift it up...there suspension lifts and then body lifts...for the amount of snow you get in west yellowstone i would probably suggest a suspension lift

Well, the short answer is. . If you lift it 2" or less you can get away cheap. If you want over 2" of lift, your buying a full kit (like James Duff etc)..

2" coil springs may be alignable but it isn't on all vehicles. Using the f-150 coil spring seats up front (1.5" of lift) is always alignable.

This is your least expensive way to do a suspension lift a 1st gen.

Thanks much for the feedback, I really didn't want to turn it into to much of a project, looks like you guys have some fairly easy solutions to my problem. Thanks a lot! I'll check back on this post when I get it taken care of. And yes, West Yellowstone is a kickass place to live. Cheers
