AirMax Cold Air Intake Installation 2nd Gen 5.0

Forgot one thing Evan, reset the computer by disconnecting the negative terminal to your battery before you start, once you're finished.. re-connect it, let it idle for about a minute and then drive. =)

This is a good write up. I am glad to see some back to the basics coming to the need for speed section again. I have some of the fondest memories of my truck in the beginning stages of modification. Good job.-j

Not necessary but won't hurt. The fuel trims will come together after a few drive cycles.-j

There was a request I read a while back for some more basic write ups in the need for speed section. I think sometimes those of us who have extensive mods think things like this are simple. This is pretty straightforward, but those who have never done any modifications may not have the confidence to do this themselves.

I have a short story about this and improved throttle response:

A few days ago, on a bright sunshinny day, I came to a stop on dry pavement. I punched the throttle, both back tires broke loose and started squalling. :D Keep in mind, I have 33" meaty tires and an Aussie Locker. I rarely romp on the throttle or drive hard so this came as a surprise to me.

You need videos. =) I bet your truck sounds awesome.. all that power...

The effect of spinning the air through the intake doesn't work. This has been proven many times, as soon as it get to the TB it's all thrown off......Think about it, even when the blade is open full, the blade is round and covers the whole diameter in the center......

Nate, everyone knows that's a marketing gimmick anyways... :P

The cheapest I've found this product today is about $211

I'm looking to get this myself. :)

MountaineerGreen, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay and where did you get yours from?

Edit: I see you posted a few places with them, but they are wanting over $400!!
