What front DS's is everyone running? If lifted which one, and if stock diff height which one? Just a normal u-joint at each end or a double cardon (CV)
Also post if you have or have had any vibrations.

mine grenaded after about 200 miles (4" superlift), orig drivetrain. with the 4406, the new shaft vibrated like a washing machine off balance, because the front diff drop brackets put the single cardon at a bad angle. had to get a double cardon added to the side by the tcase, and now its 'shakin smooth' lol

98 expedition front d shaft in my 96 with the conversion U joint
Not the CV style, this sucker has actual U joints, I did nothing to the driveshaft except install the hybrid u joint, who knows how many miles were on the shaft when I got it from the junk yard

I used 4hi on the highway to work this morning, over 45 it vibrates just a bit when the road was dryer, as soon as I hit snow/ice the vibration goes away

The front diff leaks a bit more now from the pinion seal, it didnt leak before.
No vibrations in 2wd at highway speeds

Cool thats what I wanted to know before I have them build it tonight, I'll go with the normal just U-joint style. Just was curious cause had one built for it when the first OEM shaft went out when it was AWD and it vibrated so I was curious since this time it wont be loaded because its not AWD anymore. :)

Make sure the pinion is properly angled (use an angle finder). If its not, maybe you can stack some washers or something to the axle mount in order to try to get the right angle (ghetto fab).

Search Google for proper pinion angle if you need more info.

Its not really solid mounted -- as I remember it, there are these bushing things.

New shaft is done :)
