I used this amazing site alot to keep my '93 explorer running...till it lost a duel with a GMC Yukon. sniff.
In her stead I have an '01 explorer sport with the following problem:
Periodically the power locks would not function. Now, the only switch that works is the rear-door unlock switch.
Also, the driver's side window will not work (making me one of the few people happy for the lack of rain). The passengerwindow functions from both driver and passenger side controls. There is a clicking under the dash when the pressing the driver's side window switch. Having repaired a window motor before, I would think the decline would have been more gradual if it were the bearings failing.
My hope is that these two issues are related somehow...Come on Ockham!
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help.
(I've found suggestions about relays, but would not a relay failure knock out both windows and/or all power lock function? basing that on assumption, not knowledge)
