I thought these wheels from the latest generation explorers would be a nice alternative to the cobra wheels.

I did a quick search, and it seems that they may have a different offset. Has anyone tried mounting these on an earlier generation explorer?

Also, is the hub bore large enough?

TIA,
Clint

A guy over on fxn has those wheels on a second gen(98 I think). He ended up using spaces to push them out a little. I'll see if I can find some pics of his truck.

I have a 17" Mountaineer wheel as a spare, with a 275/60/17. The offset is inboard at least 1/2" more. The offset is listed on the back, a 40mm or 44mm. The 2nd gen's are about 20-25mm offset. Good luck,

Thanks for the replies.
I went over to the fxn site, but couldn't find anyone with the wheels.
Do you remember the person's handle?

Thanks,
Clint
