My alternator is squeaking badly when the engine is cold. I managed to cure it for a whole 2 days by spraying inside with lubricant (WD40) but its back again now and I think it may be worth getting the unit replaced.
I've seen a load of remanufactured and new alternators on ebay but they are all 130 Amp. Are these ok to bolt straight on to a stock '99 SOHC engine or do I need to find a 95 Amp model?
Don't know what rating is on there at the moment but its the original UK spec alternator.
Thanks.
