Originally posted by JDraper Then you would probably love where I am. I'm halfway between Altoona and Harrisburg. Our house is nestled in the tail end of the appalachain mountain chain. Beeyoutiful area...
I dig our location too, just above York... lots of golf and kayaking near by... ironically I do both. City Island and Hershey can be cool for events, or within 2hrs, I'm in Philly, Baltimore or State College, and have a couple close ski resorts to boot. Now I find out Rausch is nearby as well... ~40-45mins. I go in today to make my tires go from | \ to | | from the last trip. heh
Northern Harrisburg has way too much traffic, and too much of the lower 90% driving/shopping/living... so I tend to lean towards York for most things anyhow, esp Computer Shows. =| WEST SIIIIIIIIIIIDE.
That picture keeps me here. I actually live in bellwood which is like 10 mins outside of altoona. Just much easier to say altoona cause more people have heard of that. There isnt much to do here except outdoor activities but thats allright with me.

That pic could easily pass for SWVA, around Blacksburg or Roanoke. I'm moving to Charleston, SC in 4 weeks and will be there until August ~ should be a great time but still, I ain't a city boy. I need moutains and camping/hiking/biking/kayaking ~ atleast Charleston will have beaches to make up for their lack of topography ~ read FLAT and swamps
Just thought I'd post a shot of our place This is looking up the lane towards our house. It's the one in the center with the almond siding and red shutters.
