Guys...I have a chance to buy a cast aluminum oil pan from a '96 5.0. I'm finding out now if it was from a 4WD vehicle or not. If it is from a 4wd, do you know if it will bolt on to my '99 5.0 4WD and clear everything? I can't help but think a cast pan would be a whole bunch better for leak prevention than the sheet metal one...and look better too.

Both will have their own advantages-disadvantages-

steel will bend not break-( if you hit a rock or curb)
however, aluminum will not rust-

the steel pan is thinner. I believe it is also lighter-

Are you sure you don't have an aluminum pan on there now? My 98 has an aluminum pan
Another issue brought up in the Torquemonster header install thread--

the 99 up v8's engines were moved back about 1/2" , compared to the 96-98
I wonder if this will be an issue with exhaust tube clearance on the driver side--

I have steel there now Jt. I was quite surprised in fact.

I live in AZ. What the heck is rust???

I'm going to buy this pan then. I just think it will be much less prone to leakage.
