So put on BRAND NEW inexpensive overseas (china) EGR sensor and no resolution of issue CEL / code ...
Went to junkyard and purchased 15 year old part (dusty but not 26 year layer - looks to be aftermarket but American made) and BLAM... issue resolved / CEL off and staying off... you win some ...you lose some...

Glad you solved the problem. What type sensor on this 1995? Is this the pintle position sensor on top of the EGR or something else?

Correct...the EGR Valve Pressure Feedback Sensor ...and the functioning one from the junk yard (!) was off a '96 ...depending on which seller / website you go to many will state the 96 wont work on the odd ball 95 ...which is true in many cases with other parts (although you'd think they would be interchangable with these two years...not to beat this topic to death ..anymore) ....but since got thumbs up on cross compatibility at one source rolled with it and worked. Not too many 95's at junkyards or on road at this point...

Sold by labwork-parts.
I'd say roughly 70% of Chinese parts are subpar at best, meaning the "good ones" will last maybe 3 years (when the OEM they replace lasted 20 years)
and then some parts last a few days / weeks / months...had this happen too.
My brother's Chinese radiator installed 3-4 months ago already has a pin hole leak

And then there's this and a few other companies selling their / the same cheapos with fake manufactured packaging claiming to be Ford / Motorcraft OEM....... blatant fraud (read some of their negative feedback) I even reported them to Ebay and Ebay has done nothing to remove them.

yes i wont disagree that typically yes jtems made there can be low quality, but on some occasions ive lucked out and gotten some rrally good stuff. howevrr in modt cases that wouldnt be entirely wrong

Yep, I've bought items made in the US that failed in the same time as the cheap Chinese brands it's all about quality and the company making the parts

I have a 96 4.0L OHV and I had the same problem as you. I bought a super cheap Chinese made part and it worked for 3 months. Then I bought another cheap Chinese made part and it has worked for 4 years. Go figure.

I ask myself three questions when i buy cheap parts:

1) is it a pain in the ass to replace?
2) will it endanger me or others if it fails?
3) will it leave me stranded if it fails?

If the answer to all three is no, I’ll try the cheapo if there are substantial savings
