Antenna issue

Well I was taking my antenna off because it was bent, and the male end broke off inside the female part of the antenna. Its too small for any of my screw extractors so I was curious if I could remove this and get one from a junk yard as a replacement. I removed the base of the antenna from the cowl area behind the hood with the cap and 3 screws, but how do I remove the wire out of the base piece? Thanks for any info

I would imagine the wire is permanent and would go back to the radio which is not too far away. That's how I have replaced other vehicle antenna.
