Just jack the body/frame just to the point right before the tires come off the ground. This will relieve the pressure of the leafs. Pop the 2 bolts out, remove shackle, maybe jack up a little more, install new shackle, pop 2 bolts back in.

After driving on them for a week, tighten the bolts down again. Mine began squeaking, but after re-tightening they've been great for a year.

Do you still use your original shackle, or does it get removed?

The original is removed, and the new one takes its place.

Thanks for the info. What did you people do for bushings? Mine are looking pretty warn and I want to replace. Any after maket parts or should I just get them from the auto parts store. Does Hank sell these???

I may have did a no-no...but I didn't jack anything up. Nothing sprung out or anything, no problems.

WHAT??? If you didnt jack up your vehicle then how did you swap the shackle? Removing the shackle would disconect the spring from the frame. This would make your X drop down. I dont get it.

Where did you guys get your bushings from.

Hank has those bushings, they are what I installed.
