anyone replace rear shackles with sliders?

One lift option for my 98 is either the Superlift or Rough Country Front ranger lift. For the rear I have been wanting to go SOA but from what i have been told and read, this will give the truck a rake as the SOA will be 5.5 or more rear lift.

So instead of going with a flatter rear leaf pack or shorter shackles (either of which i am not sure off the top of my head is possible)... what about replacing the rear shackles all together with rear sliders instead to bring the rear back down some?

I really don't know anything about spring sliders but I like the idea.

I would assume they would bind a tad or have more drag then a swinging shackle but I'm sure they work or they wouldn't exists.
