I'm sure many ricer types have. Those fake HID things are poseur bulbs. They're not brighter. Making them look whiter with the tinge of blue actually makes them less bright. There are plenty of better halogen options out there. Check the archives. I think Philips has the best halogen offering in 9007.

Ok cool. Ya I dont care much for the ricer stuff anyways, Im just looking for something bright.

I need low/high beam bulbs, and I also need (2) fog light bulbs. I would like them all to be as bright and vivid as possible without doing and HID swap

Also, if I could find a retailer that carries the bulbs I need, that would be even better....as I dont really want to order them online

I had a similar set. They do give you the hid look but no where near as bright. My stock headlight bulbs were brighter. I ended up gettin Slvania Silverstars.

These are the 9007 bulbs you want, but at $39/set, not cheap.

Thanks for the link. $39? damn...I might just go ahead and get them anyways. What sucks is I need to get (2) pairs if I want high/low beams.

Are their any cheaper alternatives that are comparable to the model?

Man, I went to check out there - but I immediately noticed that their checkout page is not secure (no SSL encryption).

Does Kragen or Autozone carry these lights?

Thanks

I have never seen these at Autozone, Checker Auto, NAPA, Carquest, or in any other store I have looked at here in CO...

Also, I am looking for decently priced OEM headlight housings. My RF is severely weather damaged, but the LF looks just fine. I figure if I am going to get these new bulbs, I might as well replace the covers with nice, clear new ones. Anyone have an idea what this might cost?

I've checked eBay, but all they have is these aftermarket ricer looking ones. I prefer OEM because of the quality and factory look

I might have an extra new OEM one, but not sure what side. I would have to look in my stockpile. PM me if interested...

Does the 98 Explorer only use one bulb for High/Low beams? I ordered (2) sets haha

I've heard that the Sylvania Silverstars are the way to go. My big problem on my 94 is that the lens is all dull and yellow. Cleaning those up will probably go a long way.

Yes, only one bulb per side. They have two filaments in them. You've got a backup set now. :D
