Are the left vs right lower ball joints different?

I ordered a pair of ball joints (lowers) through Summit. As expected they arrived quite quickly. When opening the package, the ball joints are different. They look to be the same overall size, however one has a large washer/lip at the mid point, while the other is the same width from top to bottom till it tapers down near the dust boot. They both have the same part number on the package. Did they send a left and right, or did they send the wrong part?

That doesn't make much sense. From my experience the left and right LBJs should look the same...

They sent one of those. The other one looks the same, however that metal lip that is in the middle of the joint, sticks out about a 1/2in farther.

See how the metal lip sticks out farther on this ball joint? Thats exactly what one of the ones looks like that Summit sent.

Sounds like they sent you 2 ball joints from 2 different manufactures.
Look at the position of the lips and see that they are at the same level. i.e. one doesn't stick up further that the other, when placed next to each other, and the bottom of the lips are aligned with each other.
The picture of the ball joint from EBay is a Moog ball joint, and IHO is a better ball joint then the other manufactures.

Yea I held them next to another, and they are the same overall length. The threads/nut is the same. Size and lip location are the same. Everything is the same except the lip on one of them is wider.
