Are the Tornado intake things any good?

Actually the grovrs are larger than the TB; I doubt there is one bit of restriction.

Good point. I guess I just don't remember how quiet it was. Mine actually isn't loud unless I'm WOT.

The simple fact that the thing is made of matter and has mass and sits in the intake tube means it is a resriction to the airflow in the intake tube. The device has twisting vanes which change the direction of the airflow which means it creates a pressure drop across itself (more restriction). The intake tubes in our Xs is +/- 2' with a 90 in it. Any spinning of the air that was created by this device would be null and void by the time it reached the TB.

Just my opinion, but I don't think the device is capable of doing anything positive in our application.............

If you put any stationary object in the stream of a flowing gas it will serve as a restriction. Study some fluid mechanics.

aldive- i think you are talking about the TB Airraid spacer. we are all refering to the Tornado. different product.

im still looking, but i saw either stangnet or LS1.com do a dyno test on the Tornado for a stock LS1 or GT. from what i remember, it dropped RWHP 5-6 on a stock car. ill find it sooner or later...
