Attack on Attica II

Good news or bad???

I guess it all depends on how you interpret this as to whether its good or bad, but, Anne and I will be in attendance at your wonderful offroad event!

Actually, the guy I work with in the quarry is hurt and can't work so I can't get time off to go to NM for the run out there. That frees up my weekend and Anne's money so we'll be able to come.

I just made my reservations at the Ramada in Danville for Sat night the 14th so I'm all hooked up. I plan to leave home sat morning and be there by noon or before, stay overnight, wheel on sun till around 4 and head for home.

Should we all plan to use CH25 on the CB like last time? That way when someone shows up hopefully we will be able to hear them so we can go meet up with them.

Andre, glad to hear you got some real towhooks, hows the bodylift coming along?

Riff, did you get started on your lift yet?

Tom, glad to see we finally got a weekend that worked out for you to come play.

All, very glad to see the interest and excitement in this run.

Man, this is starting to look more and more kick ass! The more people the better....and that whole cb sounds like a good idea.....Um, also...how much does that flag ya gotta buy cost, and how is it installed?

4 or 5 bucks...and you can mount it on any antennea

Riff, you don't get around much do you? Read this thread Dead Link Removed . Don't think I'll be doing MI3, with or without you.

I posted a link to this thread on the Roughrangers homepage and put the date of the run on their calander, so we'll have to see if it gets us any additional players. I know some of the guys that are members there do Attica on occasion.

2001-I live right by Midway airport. By Archer Ave. and Harlem Ave. I don't want to be a burden on anyone. If I am going to get a ride I will drive by whoever's house and leave my truck there. There is no need to waste gas money on me.

yeah yeah....right after i posted it i went to that thread....

hey rich....i was going to say that if you wanted to drive to my house that would be fine...you can definatelly ride with me, but i do live about 2.5 hours south of you, so it might be a little out of the way. i basically live right where 55 and 74 meet. i wouldn't mind having ya, but its quite a trip to my house, THEN to attica is another 2 hours or so....but hey...im sure it would probably be a little easier for one of the other guys to take you...so on a different note, did you ever get a "date" with that LADYbug1104 chick from florida? hahahaha...sorry i had to say that......

Ride

Rich-Is there and exit at Harlem on 55?? If so, I will just take Harlem to Archer, but I don't know your address. You are a little south west of me, but it is a cinch to get back onto 90/94. You're about 15 minutes out of the way, but I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to give you a ride. That way you can leave your truck at your house.

So, if you want to ride with me you're set. Call my cell (847)334-1282 so I can get your address. I was thinking of setting out early on Saturday. It looks like about a 2.5 hr drive. I am not sure if Riff has decided to start at noon or not, but if we do then we won't have to leave real early. I will be ready to go early anyways, so whatever works.

Hey Riff, make sure you tell the guys that haven't been there about the water and things like you told me. VERY IMPORTANT! Maybe you can put up a supply list and things we will have to do/buy before we can 4x4(i.e. flags etc). You've been there so you would know.

I should have my pictures tomorrow with with my tires and rims. I put a little more lift on it than when you saw it Riff. I think it came out fairly nice. I will post them tomorrow. As if you guys cared....right? :)

No dice on the lights Riff, I think I will wait until I get a safari rack and stop laughing at my custom 2x4 roof rack system!

I don't know what is up with T-Bone, no answers on email. I might just call is lazy ass and find out what is up with him.

One more thing, are we meeting 9am or noon?

Pre-run

Hey everybody! I kind of want to set a few things up so we know where we're at. I'll be leaving Chicago Friday evening and am gonna check into a motel and get some sleep. In the morning I'll go to the park for a warm-up run. Looks like Dave and Riff are gonna join me. It'll be like around 9:00 or 10:00 AM. So if anybody wants to go with us sign up or call out on channel 25 on your CB or just meet in front of the Ramada. Later we'll probably start our main event around noon or so. Let's try and meet at the Pit Stop before the run for the pix and a little chat. There's no room at the gate to meet. Get there, sign-up, get your flag, go thru the gate and down the path straight ahead to the Pit Stop. OK done with that. Anybody want to join me to drive down south to Danville????

Todd, I got the lift on but am still waiting for one little bushing that I had to cut through. I got the front bumper on, working to get my push bar back on (configuration changed), putting back bumper back on today. I'm only getting a couple of hours worth of work done every day so that's why it's taking me so long. I also took apart the whole front and painted it since there was lots of cancer there with a spot that rusted through!! Got my front hook bolted up, looks, feels a lot better. No room for Mickey Mouse stuff. Will be ready for the run. I'm not gonna put the suspension lift on. I'll work on it with the neiborhood 4X4 shop.
Hope to see you all there;;;;;;

:-)

Andre, I would like to go pre-run with you guys as well. I'd drive down with you, but I am leaving Sat morning early. I will have my CB on #25 and 9 or 10am sounds fine. Let me know if you want to meet at the Ramada or at the pit stop. I have never been there so it might take me a bit longer to find my way once I get to attica. Actually, the Ramada is in Danville so I will just meet you at the pit stop. From what you wrote, the Pit Stop is down the road after you sign in?

Matt

Heres the link to the roughrangers page so you can see what went up. They put me down as the contact cause I'm a member. (Didn't want to steal anyones thunder)

They must have checked out the thread cause they included all the links that Riff used in the beginning of this thread.

This should be sent out to all members by email so it should get some exposure. As of yet I have not had any response but we might get some in the next month.

Wanderer, welcome to the site. If you have'nt already go to the Badlands site at http://www.badlandsoffroad.com and check it out. Park entrance fees and all relevant information can be found here as well.

The place is really designed for jeeps and other short WB vehicles but we have a good time when we go. There is enough to satisfy everybodys appetite. Alot of the guys that went last time were stock or close to it and they had fun. We only went on one trail because the others get more aggressive but like I said, we had fun. There is an old rock quarry to play in and you can spend alot of time there playing and watching others.

How long is your rangers WB? Mine is 125 and I scraped my rockers in a few places but I'm working on a cure for that.

Go to the first page of this thread and go to the hyperlinks, they lead to some of the pics from our last trip. That time there were five of us last time and it looks like we may end up with twice that many if not more!

Tom Wilk is also from Ohio, maybe you guys could hook up and "wander" over together.

Hope to see you there.

you kill me todd.....

I wonder as I wander....

OK, enough funny stuff. Wanderer, where ya from in Ohio? I'm going to go to Attica on Saturday morning that weekend. I'm from the Cleveland area, so I'm looking at about 6 hours of driving time, give or take a bit. I was hoping to catch up with the gang.

Check out earlier in the thread where some posted their pictures from a previous run in the Badlands. It looks like a decent place to me.

pre-run and pixtures

Matt, we can wait for you at the entrance to the park or right pass the gate to the left. I can't be exact as far as time goes. It all depends if we eat breakfast or just grab something fast. Personaly I don't like doing anything on an empty stomach (I don't really look that though) and might want to grab a bite but heck, even if we start at 10:00 that's enough time to go and play a bit in a "sand".
I don't know if Riff fixed that link to my pages with pictures but here's the link again:

Andre-Sounds good to me, we will be leaving early enough to arrive in Attica between 9 and 10. We might even get there early enough to eat with you. I will shout out on the CB when I get close.

Riff- As of now it will be myself, my girlfriend and RichSport94.
