Attica Turkey Run!

Probably too difficult to explain on here.

Two options, Find someone to do it that knows what their doing or drive it up here Sat afternoon or Sun and we'll fix it.

Do both sides, the center one is most likely OK. The only way to tell is to get the Pass side shaft apart and then check the inside joint for binding.

Call me if you want to come up and get it done. 815 493 2938 I should be home all weekend.

Kampy--I must say, I find it incredible on your willingness to help the other guy....I must say, cheers to you on this, from when Scott couldnt make it the first time to now, you have shown an great amount of helpfulness...I applaude you on that!
Pete

I'll bet my pink slip that Todd loves to do this stuff. It's like a hobby Pete, guys like us(I mean you too) love to tinker and work on trucks. If Todd and Scott weren't so far West I would go down there too and help out. I'd love to meet up with them and help out, but it's a long drive so it's harder for me. When I went to drop off Scotts rims, I help with his lift and I only got about an hour in before I had to leave. If I didn't have to head back home I would have stayed longer.

Anyway, Todd is just one of those guys who is willing to help no matter what and it's a great quality to have.

OK, I jumped off my soap box....who's next?

See you guys on Sunday.

I actually would take you up on this offer, if i weren't w\ my family all weekend!!!! I actually do have a guy who can do it for me, but i might try it myself. I just have one question......will i have to take off the ball joints to get in there? if so, im not gonna try it....if not, i might.

When you and/or your guy do it, cut the bands off the boot on the right axle shaft and use hose clamps to put it back on. Thats what I did.

No, you don't have to do anything with the ball joints, just pull the wheels, rotors, spindles and then the axles. Hammer the old ones out and the new ones in and button her back up. Thats all there is to it. Should take about three hours for both sides.

I hope you didn't trash the axle yoke when you busted the joint.

Pigpen, don't read this part:

Hey everybody, looks like we will have to put this run off till mid Jan, the Putz is working on his front end again and everybody knows what happened last time. Should have it done in 4-6 weeks.

OK Pigpen, you can start reading again. Sorry I had to, but I had to. We'll see you there.

Riff, if for some reason you can't get it done, you can always ride shotgun. Not as fun as your own rig, but better than staying home:D A seat is always open for you.

On the same track,,,,,just got back from Attica. It rained. Lots a mud. So much even I could not avoid it:) Ay Riff! I must admit, you were right, the mud is fun. Though sliding sideways on the off camber makes it a little more interesting. Used my straps more today than ever before. I did the whamy. Aired down more was the ticket. Still to hard on the rig though.

Should be frozen soup next weekend. They are calling for 4 days of rain AND snow to. High of 34 on saturday. Should be a blast!

Ok...that settels it...im not doing it, cause i did bust the yolk at the same time. its just a bunch of metal chunks in there. now...i think i can have her done.....and picked up on friday....(please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please) so we'll just see...

so why did you hope that the yolk wasn't busted too? is that a hell of a lot harder to fix? eh? eh?

glad you had a good time john! mud is really fun! when your not out breakin ****......

i'll keep ya'll posted on the progress.....

My oh my...I'm not in all my sences now(college boy, weekend, ya get my drift) but I wanted to contribute.....Riff, if you arent there...I'll be disappointed! I've talked to you so much and ya gotta go! As for everyone else, it looks as though I'll be stayin with friends at Purdue Univ....Weather I've seen says near freezing with possible snow...Does this leave for excellent or bad wheeling? All I know, is I need for one more outting before 2000 comes to a close!
Pete

rfr2212,,,,,what is "bad" wheeling? If you mean more challenging, hell yeah! Those "simple" little hills will require a little bit more finesse and that will depend on how hard the ground is and if the sun comes out to break the glaze. The weather changes so fast around here anyway, who knows.

Which brings up another point. Just incase these hills are like runnin up a sliding board with wet tenner shoes. Who besides Todd are winched? Mr. Kampy, being the only f/r locked and winched rig, hows about leading our expedition incase a hand(or cable :))is needed? And put another if any winched rig as tailgunner. Just a thought.

sheesshhh,,,, my winch is still not here yet so I'm out of the picture. I won't be able to put it in by this weekend. that is if I can finish my **** anyway. Every time I get to it I hit a brick wall. Can you believe that I have not even taken the original coil springs off yet? It's been two days. I just shaved the old lower shock mount last night so I can get my new mount bolted in. Lots of work, not enough time, old song. On top of that there's Thanksgiving aproching fast plus plenty of honey do's to take care of. Well, heck, back to work.

I'll shut up now.

Scott, the reason I asked is not because it's any harder, it's just that you now have to find parts. You need the shaft that the ears got ripped off on. Not that big of a deal, you'll just be a few hundred bucks poorer.

John, I'll run where ever I'm needed, front, back, middle, whatever, makes no difference to me. I know I'm the only one locked and I don't think anyone else has a winch unless Andre gets his on.

Andre we posted about the same time. I'm real lucky, my honey do's are to make sure the trucks ready for the run. What more could a guy ask for?

[Edited by Kampy on 11-12-2000 at 08:32 AM]

lucky devil you! I have a few things at home that need to be done by Christmass and time is running out. Thanksgiving around the corner. Well, nothing to it. I can do it!

Later,

Andre, you have to spend your time doing productive things like working on your ride and satisfying your better half. Stay away from the computer, it helps you get absolutely nothing accomplished. :D

Some slightly bad news, Couldn't get a hotel in Lafayette for less than $100 and I figured you guys weren't worth it so we'll be staying in Danville again, this time at the super 8. $49. Oh Well!

Tony--Ya should have a CB for here....We're on channel 25 and ya call out for us there...Some may play around when we get there, but we'll wait around about the time ya expect to get there....Does that help?
Pete
