it does seem abit costly though, for me anyway. but i may consider it. some folks love the autmatic hubs. I do to but, i hear manual hubs are more reliable.
they are much more reliable. it took me about an hour and a half to install them, and being i have never installed hubs before.
while you have the autos off and the hub assembly apart, its a good time to re pack the wheel bearings.
the only real tools you will NEED are a torque wrench and the special 4 prong socket for ford manual hubs. other then that you should have everything in your garage.
Thank you sooo much Currency for that post. I have been searching for days trying to find out how to change them. It just took the right wording in the search bar to finally arrive at this thread. I hate all that auto crap they put on 4x4 these days. Now if I can only find a detailed explanation of switching the auto transfer case to a manual shift I'll be all set. Thanks again for such great and detailed info.
