Here in the northeast near Washington DC,

When working myself out of my driveway one of my hubs sounded like a zipper. It did "catch" and was working after that. Are my hubs beginning to fail?

Also, my 5sp tranny got a little sticky after say 5 or 10 minutes of work in the snow trying to get out. Did the clutch slave cylinder get hot? The clutch didn't slip it just felt like it wasn't fully disengaging.

Thanks,

About the hubs, yes they are going out. You can get some nice manuals for around $200 for all the parts. Search around, this is a fairly common problem. I have a write-up on my site if you are interested.

About the tranny, I have no idea, I don't have a manual. Sorry.

I did mine last month it's an easy job; almost everyone here who has had a hub failure has converted to manuals.

Your slave cylinder can't get hot. It doesn't spin or anything. You could have some weak fingers on the pressure plate not allowing it fully engage. Could have some really old and shot tranny fluid. It's really hard to tell. Could be a number of things.

Happy trails!!
