hey guys what are your thoughts on using the auto cam in a 5 speed truck?the manual cam is advanced 10 degrees would the auto cam give better bottom end torque?i'm putting a used 4.0l in my ranger and am contemplating putting a used MT cam in my truck thats in good shape.should i change the cam bearings? if so i'll just leave the auto cam in place.thanks

typically, an advanced cam will have more bottom end torque than a "straight up" cam or a retarded cam.

anyone notice a difference?

Nope, the 5 speed sucks less power from the driveline so its more peppy
I had the same 4.0L in my truck with a Mazda 5 speed and a A4LD auto, the engine runs perfect with both transmissions, the difference would be SLIGHT if any

thanks guys it runs great!
