I drive an 08 Explorer Eddie Bauer and it has the autolamp equiped. I keep it switched here all the time and it turns on when it gets dark...or maybe it turns off when it gets light...not sure which setting it's set to now (explained briefly in the manual but doesn't say how to switch between settings).

Anyway, my problem is I think it gets too dark outside before the autolight decides to switch on. I'd like it to switch on for light overcast type daylight. As it is now it gets darker than I like before it switches.

Can I tweak the sensor? Where is the sensor? Is there a new module I can use?

Any help is appreciated.

The sensor is located in the middle of the dash with the red blinky light.

its a sun load sensor, i guess if you tint it, it will pickup faster, just how much....

EXCELLENT idea...I did some photography in los angeles and still have some filters and gels. I'll put together something with some density and help fog the sensor a bit.

Great idea!
