I want to carry an electronic cooler in the bed of my 2009 Ranger. It would be great if I could modify the trailer plug so power can be drawn from it.
Hope some one can help me with this.

Be safe - run a new circuit. A new fused circuit from the battery.

You can get a 12v outlet at your favorite parts store. Then just wire a fuse in line and run the wires from the battery to the bed. I think there's a rubber grommet in the back corners of the bed that the wires can be run through. Then you just need to mount the outlet to the bed. There's probably better ways to do it but I think this would work fine, be sure to weather poof it if you don't have a shell on your bed.
