Hey all,

My right rear axle in my 2000 Limited is bent (previous damage not something I did) does anyone know if the axle can be exchanged with one from any explorer or does it have to be a V8 AWD ?
I can get one from an older no disc braked rear end cheap, but are they the same ?
Anyone got a parts book ?

Any help is appreciated.

Rangers had 31 splines also ?
I looked on one of those online part resellers and they list a different price for the Gen 1's so I am guessing they're different.

I wish there was a quick and easy way to reference parts, the dealers are just useless.

Not all the Rangers had them... Just the FX4-Level-2's. The standard Rangers have a 28-tooth splines IIRC.

i belive all ranger edges and all 4x4 rangers have 31 spline. but remeber rangers are spring over so you will be doing some grinding and welding to make it fit.

D'OH!! When I saw 'axle' I read 'axle shaft'.... Agreed on the axle assembly... look for an Explorer if you want a bolt-in fit.
