OK, car wont start....it just makes a grinding noise. But before I say starter, a couple things.

1. Bad tooth on flywheel? I put the car in drive and manually moved it back and forth (I think this will move the flywheel position), but still wont start.

2. I had a minor accident (couple weeks ago) where the front bumper was bent about 15 deg and it looks like something in the grill moved about .5" (part of the headlights dont line up with the grill). Could this be causing a misalignment and not allowing it to start? It was working fine for a couple weeks so I think perhaps not.

It did this to me once this weekend, but no problems til now...where it wont start at all. I think its probably the starter (solenoid probably), that is out. But I want to get some opinions before I get out in the work parking lot and give it a go. Is there a DIY for this?

Looks like it was just a loose starter...finger tight will start it now. Anyone know what size bolts they are?

what engine do you have?
4.0L, 4.0L SOHC, or 5.0L

should be 14mm-17mm, its either 14, 15 or 17, they changed them through the years.
