question is, can a bad trans cause your car to stall and blow your EEC fuse?

i have gone though 6 fuses in 3 days. i looked for shorting weirs, found none.

hapins under acceleration. when i give it gas it stalls and blows the fuse. only in forward gears. revs fine in neutral and revers.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Yes. You might have to buy a new connector unless it's just a wire that got unplugged. The first thing to do is to confirm that this is the problem. Unplug this connector, and see if the fuse continues to blow.

ok thank you. will un plug and try now.

ok thank you. just unplugged it and it stopd acting up.

If the short isn't in the pan, then it's for sure in the EEC circuit. I talked to a few techs here about it. One of them said years ago, he found a wire shorting out on the back of the intake on acceleration, causing the EEC fuse to blow. That sounds pretty close to what yours is doing.
Everyone else seems to like causing Explorers to do what their nickname implies. They say, "jump the fuse, then spray brake clean everywhere. Start it up, and follow the flames." Usually, the start location of the fire will be where your short is

But yes! If you haven't found anything in the pan, then start looking at your wiring diagrams, then follow the wires.

well i tried it again with in un plugged, and it still wants to blow.:( lookedat all the wires around the back of the intake and all look good :( i am really at a loss. shoud i just get a new harness?

Replacing the harness would require you to go through the entire existing harness, so you might as well double check all the wires. You won't be able to use your multimeter to test it because it only shorts out when you gas it.

Wiring diagram is key... If you have the diagram, I'll go over it again and see if we can find anything.

what is the plug where talking about for? could it be the other plug? will it hurt to unplug it and try the same thing?

well i found it. jumped the fuse (didn't use the break cleaner though, tell your co workers thanks for the idea John lol) but it did show me where the short was at. it was the fuel pump power wire by the alt. thanks for all the ideas. :) don't know what i would do with out this place. :)
