Ball joints, U-joints, Oh what fun......

So i go to the parts store and inquire about rebuild parts for the front D35 pos and i get told there are 2 different parts for just about everything and only one (ball joint,u-joint.etc) is the right one, Can some one simplify this for me all i know is its a axel code D4 (3.73ls) and its in a 92 eddie bauer. i had a ball joint replaced once before and they told me it was the cheaper one of the two if this helps.

Most likely the parts store doesen't list the parts as being for a D35, they normally are listed as "for all except 3.54 ratio" (which is what you want) and "only for 3.54 ratio" (which is a D28). I have run into this alot on Explorers and Rangers.

This had me stumped cause i know they stuffed a D28 R&P in some Explorer and Rangers D35's but i knew mine was a D35, well the beer is starting to kick in i think i am going to have some fun.
