ball joints

i lowered my x yesterday and i couldn't lower the front as far as i wanted to b/c of the ball jionts. I need to know where i can get some good one's not the factory one. my friend quoted me for a upper left it would be $130 for arm/ball joints. I read some of the search forums the lower ball joints are about $30 or so. Well he said he could do it for like $500 for the upper left and both bottom joints, but im woundering if i can tacle it my self.

the lower ball joints are 50$ a piece. i think 250$ for labor is a good deal. its very involved and would take a mechanic at least 2 hours. you might be able to do it in a day/weekend

How do you get $250 for 2 hours of labor?
Thats a $125 hour labor rate which is HIGH

i dont know the exact time it would take a mechanic.
seems cheap to me when i was quoted 600$ for just the lower ball joints from the dealer.
