So I was reading a thread, and the guy installed bass shakers, so I basically put two and two together to figure out what they are and do....

Are they worth it? Ive never seen one in real life...never even before that post...

Are they hard to install, and wire up? Do I use the same amp as my subs? Do they suck a lot of power?

Any info and pics or videos would be great, id like to install a set under my drivers seat

I think theyre really pretty lame. For the added cost why wouldnt you just make ur system louder so it had the same affect or more?

Cost?
Ive seen them for about ~35$ a piece....

Ill explain it best as I can, theyre like...SHAKERS....(they shake and vibrate) like when the LOW bass hits, well theyre the most intense on the low bass, which is harder to hear so they intensify it with vibrations...theyre very low wattage, and you hook them up to an amp and boom...

$70 is enough to upgrade ur woofer or amp, or a good chunk of money to put towards having a new enclosure built.

I throw alot into the back of my exp so the box I have now is perfect, I can fold my seats down and slide it towards the front when I need more room. Id love to have a custom fiberglass fancy box made, but with the way I change my setup and haul stuff, I just cant do that, as for an amp, thats already gonna be upgraded, obv. before I get shakers, but I think they would be a cool mod.

They are called tactile tranducers, and they have a purpose. Lets say you want to "feel" the low bass in your home theater, but you don't want to hurt your ears or piss off the neighbors.

You install the tactile tranducers in the seats of your home theater and cross them over like a sub, or even lower.

The better tactile tranducers will work down to 10hz-15hz. The cheaper ones only go down to 10hz or so..

They work great for a Home theater..

For a car I guess they could work well for someone who wants good SQ without the SPL normally associated with nice low bass. They will allow you to feel the bass without drwing attention to yourself. When it comes down to it, who are you playing your music for? Yourself or the car sitting in front of you at the light..

Keep in mind, you can't use tacttile tranducers instead of a speaker that plays bass, you use it to enhance the bass feeling.

THANK you lol, great info, ive seen them more on the net for cars, but ive seen a few for HT setups....

Im not trying to replace my subs by any means, but without breaking the budget, the subs I have can only hit so low, plus some arent as "pounding" as I want them to be, so these would be a nice rare mod. I LOVE the feeling of bass....along with the sound too obviously.

Do you know of a good site to look for them at? And what kind of amp, I want the best set for a decent price, something thats really gonna get the lows...

I have Shakers in my 94 Ex, along with upgraded door speakers, 6 tweeters, 2 15" Kicker L5's, and 2 kicker midbass drivers.

Obviously what a bass shaker does has been explained, but i LOVE mine. i hooked them up to a little amp i had laying around, an old Kenwood. My shakers take 25w RMS a piece, so its no big deal. they make the experience in my Ex so much better, as i dont need to have the volume maxed to get that huge bass feel. search around craigslist and such, i bought my shakers for $35 for 2 of them. there's 4 screws, easy to install, and wire up just like a speaker. very simple.
let me know if you have any more questions.
Darren

Thats what Im wanting todo in my 95, do yours REALLY..."bump"? haha
I want some that are gonna be like holy ****! when i turn my music up...

Do you have any pics of yours?
Whered you get them from?

well it would appear that i have the most ridiculous L5's anyones seen, but its all the shakers. they really thump, but they dont appear to be something aftermarket, they feel exactly like the sub is pushing it. i got mine from a guy off of craigslist. search around there and im sure you'll find some. i dont have any pictures but like i said, very easy to setup and install.

Yea, before I posted this, it seemed like just plug and play (with an amp) but now im hearing more and more positive stuff about them so im gonna get a pair when I find them, there arent ANY on the detroit craigslist I use....

Well thank you sir! Lol

What is the "20hz"?
What are the best ones?
Even if its gonna cost me a bit, I want people to get in (along with myself) and say HOLY ****! lol
