have you made a set before? if so hmmm you should make a deal with bbk! lol or just let me know how much it would be and i could buy one from you! lol either way what ever works!
Did you calibrate the TPS after you installed your BBK TB? Make sure it's got .96 volts on that wire. I can't remember the thread about this, but there's a big nice writeup on it here somewhere...you might be able to get a little better throttle response yet...
Also it's nice to check to see if the TB's butterfly is fully open when you've got the pedal pushed to the floor. (test that with the engine off...heheh).
i am going to make a trip from stockton to sacramento today! which is about 45 miles each way! usually i can get about 45 to 60 mpg if i am easy on the throttle! i will see if i do a little better on the milage! depends if i am playing to much! dam lead footed people!
Glad you hit on that before i had to - - i was going to suggest a can or two of Gunk Foamy Engine Brite before you modded anything else - i gotta believe that you could gain 5-10hp by just cleaning under your hood
whats this mubo jumbo you are all talking about? oh yeah i made a trip this morning from sacramento to stockton and filled the tank in sac and drove back doing about 65-70mph and didn't use an 8th of the tank ! i am still working on the first quarter of my tank! i will let you know what my miles will be as soon as i kill the rest of the gas! which will be a day or two! i do alot of driving! YES MY ENGINE IS DIRTY! thats what driving does! i just don clean it ever! lol where to start is more like it! lol!
3 tests you should do to see if it's all set up perfectly:
1) with engine off, take off intake tube so that you can look into the TB. Have an assistant push the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Observe the butterfly in the TB--with the gas pedal floored, the TB butterfly should be fully open. If it's not, you'll want to take some slack out of the throttle cable (do a search for zip-tie mod for more info).
2) calibrate the TB to the IAC--unplug IAC. Truck should be able to hold an idle of 500 rpm with IAC unplugged. If it can't, then turn the throttle set screw on the TB wing until the truck does idle at 500 rpm. Your target idle for our 4.0 OHV's should be 650-ish with the IAC plugged in. Adjust set screw until you achieve this.
thnks for the test suggestions! i will see about doing them today! like i said i did just slap the bbk tb ojn there ! didn't think about adjusting it though! till i let it cool down and then it didn't want to idle or stay running for that matter. so i adjusted the idle screw and now its idling better but i need to check the other things!
now if i get this straight, if my butterfly inside the throttle body isn't opening all the way i can adjust it by the same screw right? on the linkage right?
i will attempt and show readings of my findings later wish me luck all! should we take bets or guesses to see how far off my TPS is ?? any guesses? i will be back later!

No, if your butterfly isn't opening all the way, I would adjust that by taking slack out of the throttle cable at the pedal. A stock 94 throttle cable will have a lot of slack at the gas pedal...again, do a search for the zip tie mod.
I've always adjusted the set screw for the IAC calibration. Never for the butterfly-opening test.
i went to check out that post and the link that he provided says that i am not authorized to view it! maybe someone has another link? i was reading something about counter effects on tightening the throttle cable!
