Ordered my SC, it came but was missing many peices...
called BBK and they never return phone calls...so now I am out $2800 with a SC that I can't install yet!

I realized from a few people here that BBK was that way but just wanted to vent a little.

I thought you had to purchase an installation kit for it for $200. Summit lists this on there site as needed with the SC. Did you buy an installation kit with it?

It seems like every other person that wanted to install a S/C gets something missing or something going wrong preventing them to install the S/C on their truck. It must be very discouraging to look at a S/C and not be able to put it on.

Forgot to ask what parts are you missing anyway? I want to do the SC mod for my OHV engine as well when my Ford extended care warranty ends, but I'm now considering just a new SOHC engine instead.

Do you have a V-8, explr1?

He can't have a V8 stock in a sport, has to be a v6

I thought it wasn't adviseable to get a S/C on a V-6 much less on a OHV for explr1.

Got the SC (1590) and the install kit (1593)
Missing stupid things like fuel fittings, nuts and bolts, vacuum fittings, vacuum vapor hoses..misc items like that. I have been trying to obtain them myself but it is taking a lot of time and resources that for the money spent shouldn't have to..
Plus the fact that there is a lot of time that I will need to custom fab brackets and hoses.
No wonder BBK doesn't return calls....

Oh, the chrome intake tube was on backorder so I am missing that, everyday they tell me it shipped...so by there words I should be receiving one every day for eternity.
They stated that the SC kit in the beginning was shipped everyday too....they ended up FedXing it overnight and they ate $350 for shipping!
Too bad it turns out to be a waste of money since I didn't gain any ground installing it.

...wish I had a 5L Sport....If Ford was smart they would have otioned it

With all these problems its very very discouraging to go for a S/C. Maybe if it were to be done in a shop where they have all the parts in stock, then it would be worth it. Only because you won't have to deal with the headache of waiting for parts and finding out later on that there are more parts missing.

Yes, I have the stock 4.0 OHV engine. After reading this post I'm going with a 4.0 SOHC swap instead.

I'm sure you know of Alec, When he had his truck he had no problems that I know of.

Hmmm... if only he could stop playing with his new toy he'd help us out here. ;)

So, why did EE ever stop offering the S/C for the V-6? I don't see it on their website anymore (I know its old) and no one talks about getting one there.

Just b/c EE doesn't make it doesn't mean that its bad for the motor. They probably don't make it because there is no demand for it.

A little off topic but......
Can you simply drop in (for lack of a better term) a later year V8 as a replacement for my 93 V6?

It seems BBK has gotten much worse then. Mine was missing a few minor parts and we did have to fab a few easy brackets, but not nearly as much as it sounds like you have to do.

I'm sorry you're having troubles, wish I could help more but school is keeping me really busy right now.

There's nothing simply done installing a V8. Engine, tranny and wiring stuff must be swapped. A BBK is a direct bolt on kit, no worries about new exhaust, wiring or trans.

Later Doug904.

BBK Update

Received a call from Ken Murphy at BBK today, he answered all my questions and put me in touch with the person who can handle my missing parts. (Good Deal)
Ken was quite pleasant and very knowledgeable....

As soon as the remaining parts arrive I will dig in to the install!!!!

Hey bro im from CT too. I haven't done the s/c on my 95 v6 ohv but I know the truck pretty well. If you want some help with the install let me know.

I am south of you in Meriden.

Picked up all the fittings today (or at least I think all the fittings) and all that I am missing now is the chrome tube which should be here this week, hopefully I will start the install this weekend. I still need to fab a couple of brackets plus find a good spot for the timing control module and the FMU, there isn't a heck of a lot of room under the hood!
I think I easily put down another $100 just in gasket makers, thread locker, fittings, ect...
