I have recently replaced my belt and noticed that it slips at 2500-3000RPM and above. I have searched and noticed that this is rather different as people usually have belt slippage upon startup. There is no other time that the belt slips except this RPM based cause. The tensioner seemed to have good tension when I replaced the belt. Could it be that I bought a cheap belt and should go back and purchase a gatorback?

I have found in some instances (both Ford and non-Ford products) that occasionally at higher rpm, the serpentine belt will vibrate at one or more of the longer lengths. If the tensioner spring has gotten a tired and is, therefore, applying slighly less tension to the belt, this vibration will cause the belt to "skip" on an idler or other pulley. I would first check to see that you have the proper amount of tension on the belt before investing in another. But the gatorbacks appear to be very good.

You really need to determine if it is in fact belt slippage, or if it is a bearing in one of the pulleys making the noise.

Have you checked the idler pulley and belt tensioner?
