Bench Test Radio / CD Player ?

Anyone have recommendations on wiring up to bench test a head unit from 4th Gen Explorer? I have a harness and a wiring diagram, I get it to power up and I can load CDs but that's it... no radio or audio will work and no reaction when I press the AM/FM or MENU button.

I have to claim ignorance on that.... it does have the three plug harness.

I found this great video on repairing a stuck CD transport and got it working...... just can't test the audio.

If it’s got an external amp it’ll never function on the bench.
