Just installing some New KC Lights, but having a hard time deciding where to mount the Light Switches. There's doesn't appear to be a lot of good locations. Open to all suggestions and Photo's of same.

Thanks

Where are you taking your DC from? Directly from the battery thru a fuse?

Are you talking to me? If so, yes, I have a fuse near the battery and the wire went through the firewall where I drilled a hole above the pedals.

A good location is under the dash, to the right of the hood release....I'll get some pics up tommorrow if you want.

My Pilot driving lights came with a sleek looking adhesive backed pushbutton switch. I stuck it right next to my hazard switch on the top of the steering column. It's very convienent to reach and that way I can easily see the LED's in the switch to verify if the lights are on or off. It's also easy to run the wire in the cracks of the dash panel over to the fuse box.

Crankcase, I would appreciate a photo. I have to run a 45 watt 2 meter ham radio, Hella 500 lights on roof rack and a small neon under the glove compartment. I also have an inverter to run a small tv for the back seat.

How I did it for two switches was to take a metal plate about 1-1/2" by 4", and drill holes at either end. I used a little L shaped angle bracket in the middle , and secured it under the dash to the metal part beside the hood release. The plastic cover slides right over the bolt head that is under the dash, so it hides it well.

I also just used a singler angle bracket to hold one switch onto the bolt holding the plastic piece in place....

Pic 2: below.....

The bracket looks crooked in this pic, but it is straight after I tightened it down. You can see the jungle of wires that the police left for me...that is why I always tape around the + connections to my switches, I don;t want fuses blowing.

Thanks for your repsonses and Photo's, they have been a great help.

I have decided to make my own mounting bracket and mount the switched under the dash/ashtray area.:D

No digital cam so no pics, sorry.. But my switch is flush mounted like JDraper's but it is to the left (driver's side) of the kleen ex slot on center console. I thought about putting the switch where JDraper put his, but my switch's bulb is really bright and I didn't want to have it always in the corner of my eye.

Here's mine.

I finally got the 95+ console in my 92 i was wondering how you managed to do your switches in the ashtray like that, if you could get me some info that would be great.

thanks

Eliteconcept- the switches are just mounted to a piece of plastic that was bent slightly to lay 'flat' against the top surface that the ashtray usually rests on. Then I screwed it down with some tiny allen screws.

interesting, thanks!
