that sub would not sound any good as its desing its for large rooms
Bumpin a thread that is over 6 yrs old.....![]()
6 years later the JL Audio W-7 is still one of the best subwoofers out on the market.
Im currently running a 12W7 ported in my x. 2 cf, 40 inches of port, tuned to 28hz. Running it with the JL 1200HD, sounds amazing. I dont really care for the higher end of the subs (70 - 100 hz) but that might be the resonanse of the X itself. best Ive done on a termlab was 146.1, on the dash with test tones. But when it comes to the lows (35 hz and down), it is a beast. Is it worth the Money? I didnt care, Im currently running all jl audio gear and am quite happy both with the sq and spl!
the w7 just had its 10th anniversary. . . . . .
I find that nearly impossible. I would love to see a vid to prove me wrong. The w7 isn't meant to hit those numbers and I highly doubt it at 28 hz. It would have to be tuned much much higher to even come remotely close. The w7 is a great sql driver. The price is absolutely insane.

$900 for a 12....Insane. A Zcon, Xcon or Icon will hand the JL it's hind quarters for a fraction

There are a lot of great drivers on the market that should be considered before getting the shaft with a w7.
FI Q - AA Havoc - TC LMS-R - to name a few.
