Hey...this may be a bit over you budget but I would suggest going with Pioneer 6x8 3Way. I got one in every door in my 92 and they sound awesome. They are about $90-100 bucks a pair....but well worth it I believe!
Good Luck

Keep those 6.5s! Just go out and by the adapter plate for them. They're just plastic plates that sell for 15 bucks. It will have a hole for a 6.5 and then you can fit the adapter in the 6x8 hole. We have a place called Fry's Electronics that sells them. I think they're by a company called Metra. Look around, or ask maybe Radio Shack or Pep Boys to order them in for you. Or Crutchfield might sell them to you since you didn't buy speakers from them. If you buy speakers from them though, I think they give you the adapter free.

As a note, since you haven't installed your subs yet, don't overplay the 6.5s. They're not made for bass, so don't overdrive them or you'll blow them out.

As a side note, a lot of people believe circular cones reproduce sound better than ovals, since it's easier for the whole cone to travel all at once, unlike an oval, that *theoretically* has to have its sides with extra mass. Just theory, take it as you will.

Personally, I don't care if my rear passengers get good sound or not. Anyway, you don't want too crisp of highs in the back anyway. Takes away from your front stage.

One more thing, take the speakers out as soon as you can, or at least disconnect them. The rattling's probably from them not fitting, but the static *could* be from the speaker grounding somewhere, or the speaker itself is shaking around so much that the voicecoil might start grounding itself to other parts in the speaker. This can hurt the speaker, but moreover hurt the amplifier.

Audiobahn speakers are pretty good. Take a look at www.carstereopro.com. They are very reputable, and have great pricing. I think they had 5x7 Audiobahns for 72 dollars.

at crutchfield.com they have infinity refrence speakers all on clearance so they are about 60 or 70 bux a pair, exactly the price you are lookin. great sound, affordable, and i doubt you are amping the speakers but they can handle at least triple what the stock deck puts out. they are the best bang for the buck speakers made. highly efficient. crystal clear. all around great speakers if you are on a budget

I would go with a set of Pioneer 6x8's. Use 3 ways up front and to save money 2 ways in the rear. This way you improve your front stage and save money. These speakers are designed to fit Ford's and sound great. If you amp them up like I do they sound great. But as long as you have a powerful head unit you should be alright. You can buy them from Dead Link Removed or Dead Link Removed Both of those sites have great prices. Much lower than best buy or crutchfield.

i had the pineer 6x8 3 ways for a wile...now i have 6 inch coaxils instead which sound much nicer. in other words keep the alpine speakers there a lot better quality and the oval cones don't produce as clean as a sound wave as 6.5 would. you can build a plate to fit them with some abs plastic. its real simple and takles little time

good luck

Polak that sounds like a good idea i will give it a try plexy glass will work right?
