BFG All Terrain KO How do they ride?

Hi all. I just wanted to know how the BFG AT KOs ride on the road. Are they quieter or louder than the Firestone Wilderness ATs? I will be getting the 265/75R16 size BFGs I think. Will the increase in size have any adverse effects to my on road driving experience? Thanks. What about Michelin LTX A/Ts?

Personaly I think that the BFG AT KOs ride a little harder than other tires due to their stiffer sidewalls, I didnt notice an increase in noise over the firestones, just a slightly rougher ride. This also taking into consideration that I run fairly high tire pressures. I can't comment on the tire size or compare them to the michelins.

They are louder than your everyday street tire, but not loud enough to get annoying. With my radio turned up only 1/4 the tire noise cannot be heard.
The ride is firmer due to the stronger sidewalls not having as much give. I personally like it better that way, makes it feel like it's a stronger vehicle. IMO anyways...
The only affect the bigger tires have had on me is they don't give as much so it feels like it handles better. Occasionally that makes me want to forget I'm not driving a well handling sports car. I have to remember I'm driving a vehicle with a high center of gravity and slow it down a little in the turns sometimes.

I agree with monkey boy, they handle really well,make you feel a little more stable then you really are I think they ride great, they may be a bit stiffer than crapstones, but they dont explode, at least I dont think... I love mine..

i have noticed a ride IMPROVEMENT over the flintstones. i like mine a lot. they hold up under some pretty harsh conditions....even at the 13 psi i was running on my stock rims.

I am thinking about the same tire or the 255. I use the vehicle for 99% street but think these will be good for crappy OH weather (snow/rain), hunting or trip to the NC beaches.

I had my 94 on the beach at Outer Banks but not too sure about my 98. the 98 has AWD and no selector switch. I don't want stuck and thought the tires might help out there.

Anyone else have an AWD w/16" KO's on the sand in the Outer Banks? If so 255 or 265?

Street Quality?

BFG site says they will replace, will they put on KO's?

95 go offroad, what would i need to do to my truck to get 33" bfg ta ko's and where to i buy the parts. i thought there were no lift kits available for the 95+ explorers. i know about the warrior shackles but what about that lift kit? and what about that leaf thing?

You will need a body lift a 2inch will work and it less then $100
4 Wheel Parts has them for the old body type or a 3inch Ranger kit but it will be more money and you will need to find a steering extender and I just did the t-bar twist and shackles and add-a-leafs, it all worked out real nice and it fun to do.

I have noticed that when I first got my AT's mounted, they were super smooth. Now, with several thousand miles, they're just a tad bit rougher, and a little noiser. I like that. I don't want a car-like ride with tires I don't even know are there. I want a slight "wrrrr" sound, and the AT's deliver that, plus the ability to hear my stereo at highway speeds - something my Swampers weren't able to deliver.
