Just figured I would toss this out there since I'm looking at both brands of tires. Just wanted to see what the thinking was for the better off road rubber.

thanks,

BFG AT FTW!!!

I havent ran wranglers in a long long time, but I loved the BFG's I used to have on my 4x4 ranger. So my opinion may not be worth much since i don't' have a head to head comparison but I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.

both good tires

I'm spliting hairs either way but I'm leaning toward the BFG's

I wouldn't be caught dead running Goodyear's. Goodyear tires are over priced junk.

Yes I have had bad experiences with Goodyear.

I personally have had very bad experience with the Wranglers. I also don't consider them a real A/T tire. They are more of an All Season road tire in my eyes. Weigh the treadlife, puncture resistance and the sidewall protection and the BFG wins hands down. The off-road worthy aspect of the BFG is icing on the cake...

BFG all the way

General Grabbers AT2 :p:

Everything the BFGoodrich is at lower price :D

If you are looking at Wrangler RT/S, look elsewhere...

Go with the BFG AT KOs, you won't be sorry.

I just replaced my factory Wranglers with Firestone Destination ATs, and love them. The Wranglers were really bad but not worn out, I just couldn't face another winter with them.

Wrangler SilentArmor

Failed to mention they are Wrangler SilentArmor.

Those Firestone Destinations look good as well.

Running Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos on my truck...not sure what the Ex will get after winter. Anyway, as far as all around the Revos do pretty good in all conditions(snow monsters) but definately far from a mud tire. Worth a look though.

I got my general grabber at2 and they are awsome. They are the best tire i have ever had in snow and makes for driving in wisconsin blizzards a cake walk. The bfg are nice but to pricey.

Those are supposed to be way better than the OEM Wranglers, but rated
just under the Firestones. Here's the top 10 from surveys at Tire rack:

1 Michelin LTX A/T
2 Firestone Destination A/T
3 Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor
4 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo
5 Pirelli Scorpion ATR
6 Fuzion XTi
7 General Grabber AT
8 Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S
9 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
10 Kumho Road Venture AT KL78

The Wrangler AT/S were 17, GSA 19

i have Wrangler's , a new one called Territory , i like them alot, good self cleaning, and lots of grip off road,
i got the 31x10.5x15,

They are made exclusively for Canadian tire by Goodyear, based on the Duratrac. This is the first place I have seen a single comment where people suggested avoiding them, all owners say they perform incredibly well, for snow and light 4X4, supposed to be great in sand too.

ive heard a few people talk negative about the wrangler tires, but if they are the duratracs, its a whole different ball game! just put some 33" duratracs on my 03 trac and they are pretty damn sweet. i was running pro comp mud tire extremes and i loved those tires. but the duratracs are just more balanced, quiet on the freeway, and great off road too. we just got our first rain and snow storms here and my duratracs felt like they were made out of hot tar in the slippery stuff. not to mention, they have a really aggressive look to them. they loo almost like mud tires but run like AT's on the road.

Yeah, I went from running BFG's in 31's, to 33's... to Duratrac 33's... I wouldn't go back. But that's not to say at all that the BFG's were bad tires.

The Duratrac's have a more aggressive tread and clean out nicely.. The BFG's were great in everything except mud and deep stuff.. they would turn into slicks and wouldn't clean out as well. But I'm loving these Duratracs so far, winter has hit and I can already tell they have a good advantage over the BFG's.

Goodyear Silent Armor

I run the Goodyear Silent Armor and have really liked them. Quiet on the freeway and have done evrything I could ask for off road. My offroad consists of hard dirt slick rock and sand. Did fantastic in Moab several times. Aired down they where great at hugging rocks and floating in sand. As for road no problems in rain or snow at all, has done very well!
