Well, the lift is done. 2 inch body lift, add-a-leafs/shackles, and T/T. All I have left to do is fabricate a front bumper bracket. Now comes the meat!!! I am looking at the BFG M/T. I was looking at the A/T, but a friend of mine has a F-350 with ATs and he got hung up in his front yard. I am in TN and it gets pretty sloppy around here. I don't want that to happen to me. There isn't a lot of info that comes up on a search on these. I am wanting to know how they really perform on the street and how they last with a lot of highway miles. Also, I am planning on taking the truck on a 12 hour trip in about 3 weeks and I am wondering if I am going to hate the trip because of these tires.
Thanks in advance!!

I have a set of both BFG A/T KOs & BFG M/Ts (both sets 33x12.50).

The A/T KOs are actually quite impressive off road. The other day I was driving in over 2' deep mud without getting stuck (but almost). I don't think the F-350 is a good reference for your tire purchase as most heavy LWB trucks can get stuck in wet grass. For me they have exceeded my expectations.

I'm the 3rd owner of my BFG M/Ts so there ain't much tread left on them. Even so, I can't believe the stuff they've taken me through without getting stuck. I go wheeling with several rigs so I can afford to push them to the limit and get pulled out if I “overdo it”. They’ve only gotten stuck once (and it took me all day trying to do so). With lots of street driving you can still expect ~40K miles and they're pretty quite for a mud tire.

Hope this helps...

MTs are great tires

OK, after two 16-straight-hours-drive trips, my wife does not hate the MTs. I think this says it all.

why not pro comps?

i've had a set of pro comps and bfg's. both the mud terrains. i totally prefer the pro comps. they are CHEAPER, better cyped, better void and better side wall tread( not really much of a difference, but it's enough to sell me). if all you want is a name, then go w/ the bfg's, but if you want quality for the money, then go w/ the pro comps. I PROMISE, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED! they are exactly the same(if not better) as the bfg's. they both handled great on and off road, but the PC's seemed to wear a little better. if tennessee is anything like GA though, i would recommend a tsl for any kind of mucky terrain. they are self cleaning, as the bfg's and pc's are not.

I've heard nothing bad about the Pro Comps but they only have 2 ply sidewalls. The BFGs have 3.

This probably won't matter for mudders but on rocks the additional protection may come in handy...

that is very true, but if i was a rock climber, i seriously doubt i'd use anything less than 6 ply anyway. i've rode on a set of thornbirds w/ only 2-lbs of pressure and they performed beautifully.

blah

be a man and go with some boggers, haha jk!!!, i think that u would like the TSL's, they are more agressive, look better, dont last quiet as long but they are alot better

PEACE

shibby- i completely agree w/ you all the way. thornbirds are my personal favorites and second of course are BOGGERS(for strictly mud diving). but the man said enjoyable ride, so i'm definately not going to stick him on an inch of void, if you know what i mean.

Thanks everybody! I looked into the pro comps but I can get the BFGs for the same price including balancing, mounting etc. I guess for the most part, does anybody have anything bad to say about these tires? So far I have only heard good things about them.
Thanks again

the cheapest price i've found for the PC's is $117 a peice for 33's and as for the BFG's, they don't come anywhere close at $133. those are magazine prices, too. you can always get a better deal when you've got money in hand.
