I'm wondering myself when all these problems are going to stop. Today I got my X checked out because the rear right tire was acting up and it was the e brake stuck, got that fixed. checked out some codes and cylinder 4 has misfire, O2 sensors need replacement and its too lean... definitely getting a tune up before winter.
then i went out and i pulled a stupid stunt i wished i never did, i kicked in the gas pedal and speed up to 60mph and then came to a stop at a light, then the Check engine light started to come on, the engine started vibrating... Pulled over, put in park and vibration stopped for a min and then vibration came on. put it back on D and vibration all over again. I turned the veichle off for 10min to let it cool off, and no same **** again. drove home all vibrating and then i just parked the car to let it cool off and i recorded a video because **** i don't know what to do. i don't want to go back to my mech.... guys help me out, why the #### is it vibrating? there is a hissing noise coming from the middle of the car, i also recored a video and posted here. please help!!!!!!!!!
thanks

sounds like you may have a vacum line that has come off of just wore away. I dont know though thats what pops into my mind when I hear a hissing noise

^^x2^^ Vacuum leaks cause both a hissing sound, rough idling, surging, and too lean.

I have no idea what that is, but I am going to take it to my mech tomorrow for a check up, i just drove it again after 2hours and its the same **** again. The engine is shaking very violently and i am afraid to drive it. and how much do you think it will cost me?

Before you take it in, start checking all the vacuum lines. It really sounds like one happened to pop off or break when you drove it last. Try to zone in on the hissing noise and look for holes, scrapes, open ports, etc. If you find what you think might be a hole or find an open connector somewhere, put your finger over it and see if it smooths out. Look around the front and back of the intake, in front of the IAC, under the battery, and the firewall. I'd bet if you listen real close you can get an idea where the hissing is coming from.

Oh, I forgot the second part of your question. The dealerships around here usually charge 1 hour of labor for diagnosis. Right now that's ranging from $70 -$80 an hour. It's worth trying to find it yourself if you can.

Rottie, it could be on the vacuum lines, but is there any instructions how to check it? I'm not to car savvy so I don't have a clue... any pictures, thanks plus, the hissing noise seems be coming from the exhaust area.

I don't go to the stealership, i have a friend that specializes in transmissions and he does my car all the time. so i don't think that should be a problem plus labor charge shouldnt be too much from him.

the misfire code could also be responsible for the lean condition and the engine shaking, sounds like cyl #4 needs to be inspected (the spark plug and wire)

This is after you look for your loose vacuum line....having a vacuum leak will cause all sorts of issues with your truck

hmm, i'ma go take my truck to the mech tomorrow, and i'ma let him check out the vacuum connection. he also told me that he is going to fix all the cyl 4 and o2 sensors when i go get my winter tune up around November or December. and also 410, he told me that lean is because of the cyl 4 misfire. can anyone explain how a misfire happens and what it does.?

all i want to do is get this ####ing truck to stop vibrating. seriously after a 15min drive, when i walk out, it feels like i've gotten a cheap massage:fart:. if it is really is the vacuum leak, how much do you think it will be? i've been on a tight budget lately...

plus is it safe to drive around with a vacuum leak? i'll be going to school and then work tomorrow mourning.
