Bigger Back seat

OK I have a 98 X, I have 2 TVs and too much sound to list. BUT I am 6'4" and there is no legroom behind me. I want to move the back seat back about 2 feet for more comfort. I don't need much cargo room except for my subs and amps. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have seen it done in an expedition for a limo feel, I know they are huge but surely an X could do it too.

Moving the rear seat back might prove difficult. The wheel wells are in the way, and the rear cargo deck is a bit higher than the rear passenger floor. You might be better completely removing the rear seat and putting in two bucket seats. That way you can fit them inside the wheel wells. They will probably have to sit higher than the current rear seat due to the height of the rear deck.

First off, yeah I am driving on the wrong side of the car and the wrong side of the road ( but so is everyone else here )
Anyway, the height I can deal with I think, it is the wheel wells causing me problems, Do you know of any comfy aftermarket chairs or bench sets that might fir.

How about a set of Explorer front buckets?? You might be able to find a matching set to yours in a junk yard.

you might be able to use an Explorer Sport's rear seats. they are cut around the wheel wells so they should be able to mount further back. I think that a Bronco II's rear seats are even narrower so they can be mounted anywhere (even directly between the wheel wells). I can get some pics of both if your intrested.

could you post those pictures id like to see those seats. ive wanted to move mine back but the trim is in the way. if you have another picture with the seats in a sport that would rock too. Major

I know they came in red, blue, I think tan, but it was a bit lighter then newer Xs. I'm not sure bout gray.

I like the Sports better, they are also a bit more comfy. but trying to get the rear seats over the wheel well, you may have to use the BIIs. I'm not sure how long the pics will last as they are on Ebay

Thanks for your help guys.
We dont have the BII's here in australia or the X sports, only the 4 door XLT's.
Anyway we do have the third seat as an option, does anyone else have this seat and how comfy is it, I am pretty sure I could take the rear seat out and move the third seat forward a little.
Any more ideas, if it is a ***** to sit in then I will just try and get some front seats to go with. Not many X's here so finding a junked one would be quite a task.

to be honest, i think the 3rd row will just be too small and too far back. you could have the sport or bronco seats imported, or you could buy another set of front seats, cut back the rear carpet, and extend the mounting track further back. even with that, you may still be able to bring it as far as the wheel wells.
