If you've ever lifted the front of these off the ground, you'll find the stock length Shocks run out of down travel very quickly. Shock extensions or spacers help this issue, but usually only available in 3/8-24 thread. Bilstein shocks unlike the other brands, have m10x1.5 thread. I found that jeep jk shock extensions fit these and add about 2" from 18" to 20" or so . These are the Terraflex ones.

I just purchased 10x1.25 thread extenders on Amazon for some Gabriel’s shocks going on a ranger project I have here
They were listed for a golf cart

The terraflex ones are 10x1.5 pitch?

I believe so, I can double check when I get home. I honestly ordered them to try and they just happened to fit. I found some jeep forum saying the jk upper shock nut is m10x1.5.

I see them avail in 3/8 - 24 pitch
Or 10mm - 1.25 pitch
Would be cool to know if they are available in different sizes

I cut 1/2” off the top
Of my shock stud so they would fit better
Next time I may try to extend the bottom mount at the control arm instead of the top stud, thinking it maybe stronger

The only concern I'd have on the lower arm is the clearance with the CV axles. There's a lot of material on those terraflex extensions, I don't think they'd bend or break easily at all. I thought they were aluminum but they stick to a magnet and they thread all the way down to the ring that holds the dust shield up, so plenty long.

Nice! So you can get these stud extenders in 3 different sizes and thread pitch
You are right I was looking, there is not enough cv clearance to extend the lower mount… of course.

On our sport trac I was smarter and ordered Gabriel shocks that are +1.5” but I also bought a few sets of discount shocks that are tooooooo short so the extenders will work well

I didn't know they offered Gabriel shocks that were extended. Good deal!

Yes if you look at shocks on rockauto a few of them are +1-1.5” over stock almost as if the shock makers were paying attention!!

I finally got around to putting these in, adjustable camber bolts, doing a 1.5" torsion twist, already had the longer sway bar links. Ride and handling is firm but smooth and controlled, I like it.
Before if you jacked the truck up by the frame, you could watch the shock fight the suspension and really compress the shock stem bushings, not good for the shock to be over extended. This lets it actually drop down naturally.

Two things I will add that I've not seen mentioned. The brake line is very close to the front drivers camber washer, it got pinched under it while tightening mine, watch where it's at.

The second is you'll have to shorten the driver's rear bolt a 1/2" or so to install it otherwise it's impossible to install and you'll be fighting the fuel lines behind it.

We actually remove the fuel lines from their plastic retainer which gives you room to move the bolt in and out of the control arm
It takes some finagling of the drivers uca to get the bolts through both ends, but if you angle things correctly and simply Unclip the vent lines from the plastic bracket…
It will go

Nice work! Looks good
