binding in 4x4

when i put my 93 eddie 4x4 in 4 wheel drive if i turn sharp it sounds like something is binding just wondered if this is normal or what

If it only happens when you turn, my guess would be a U-joint in one of the half shafts.

It's normal. Because all 4 wheels are tied together through the power train, the outer wheels can't travel faster than the inner wheels when cornering, creating a bind up.

BTW, you should NEVER use 4wd on dry pavement, it can damage the system.
