Hello all,
I have been reading and gaining info from this site for a while now and thought I should contribute. I have a 1997 Sport that had the blinking OD light as well as a lot of other people and was told I needed a $3000 rebuild. When I asked if I could continue to drive it without the torque converter locking like it's supposed to, they told me that eventually the transmission would overheat and completely fail. No money for the rebuild so I took it to another shop and had them change fluid and filter. They also added a container of Lucas Transmission Fix. Two weeks and everything works good. This may not fix everybody's problem but it seems to have worked for me so far. For a hundred and change it's worth a try.

yea i know a guy who got 30,000 extra miles, befor his tranny went .....doin that same quick fix.....best of luck

Holy ****, I've been getting that too sometimes. Hmm I'll go ahead and do it. Like I said before My trans been acting up.

pull the code
OD light flashing = code in memory, start there, could be a minor issue

Mines been blinking for the last 85000 miles, once in awhile it stops usually in very cold tempetures.

When the OD light blinks, I believe the trans goes into 'limp' mode causing hard shifting which isn't good for the trans. Pull the codes, and reset them with the reader or by disconnecting the battery.
