ok i have a 2wd 96 sport with a manual trans, and want to do a 3 inch bl. will i run into a problem doing a body lift because my truck is a manual, and also i read that you have to relocate your radiator, and extend the steering how hard is this and is there any other relocating or downfalls to doing a BL that i should know about before i get in over my head.

You wont need to relocate your radiator just the fan shroud, you will need a steering shaft knuckle installed and you will need to fabricate some bumper brackets if the kit you buy doesnt come with them. Im pretty sure you need to extend your shifter or something like that but not positive and theres a few other little things like e-brake cable etc. Search around the site for body lifts, you should find all the answers to your question.

I am wondering, because you have a 2wd, whether you would be better off replacing your spindles with aftermarkets? This gives you a 2-4" lift just by replacing them. I can't remember the exact height or who does them, maybe someone else might know. The rear could just be a spring over axle conversion.

The Explorer Pro Comp Spindle will give you 3" of lift in the front...I know 4wp has a kit that comes with the spindles, aal, and 4 es3000 shocks for about $650....but I ordered the spindles alone and I think it was about $325...not that bad of a deal...check out my car domain page...I should have the 3" Spindle..2" torsion twist, aal and shackles....

well i was kinda leaning towards the BL because of the price, i don't want to put to much money into the truck right now, i already did the warrior shackles and maxed my torsion bars. i noticed the front of my truck feels alot more bouncey now is this normal, also i tore everything out of my truck and started breaking loose the body mount bolts and i ended up breaking the heads off both the bolts that are under the driver and passenger seat  do i have to drill the rest of the bolt out now?

hey guys whats the best way to get the front body mount bolts out from under the truck or from inside the engine compartment

All of the body mount bolts except for the two in the front engine bay (obviously) have to be accessed via the interior.

I just finished the body lift on my car and I ended up breaking one of the body mounts...the 3rd one down on the passenger side...I think it's like $33 from my local ford shop...My car makes some weird noise now...but I think the sway bar brushings r shot or either my shocks are maxed out...I'm takin it into a shop on Monday...hope everything goes smoothly for ya if you decide to go with the body lift!

What kind of noises?

Nvrhapy, check out my thread in the 'Useful Thread' section. It may help you.

popping/clunking and then theres a vibration in the floor board

what kit do you guys recommend for a 3 inch body lift and where should i get it from, i read on here that i have to get like a ranger kit and then i read some one else got a 94 explorer kit. i also read that you can buy the bumper brackets from one year ranger and those would work i'm kinda confused. whats the best route to go. oh and adam i couldn't find your thread

If you plan on going the 3" body lift route, you'll have to get a PA 853 for the Ranger and make your own bumper brackets or purchase them seperately from Performance Accessories. You can purchase it from Summit Racing, JC Whitney, or pretty much any other auto accessories company.
