body moulding type ?

hey i asked another question in the tire option's thread ( guess i should have not asked it there but it seemed like a good place to ask) but on pre-h20's truck i noticed that the x sport had side stripes blacked out.mine being a sport and same year and also being a sport that mines got that dukes of hazzard orange stripe,i thought all the sports of that year had orange not black ???

can the orange strip be removed (like being glued on ) or is all one solid piece of rubber and painting is the only option ?also if i have to paint which paint would be best ..scuff up the orange then go over with primer or just straight paint ??

guess no answers.... would i need to do this thread in the modified forum ? i know it's such a stupid thing to ask about painting but after seeing that x with the blacked out side strips i said to my self i got to do that ...it just so much better than that orange strip

I think it's such a small/thin stripe, just painting it would be the easiest thing to do, the cheapest, and it wouldn't look bad at all.
