So I took my wifes 04 EB in today to have the ABS looked at. They said it needs an ABS module, almost $400, PMI Fluid (what the heck is that), and a transducer.

I'm assuming the PMI fluid is just brake fluid. The transducer is throwing me off. I'd say it's something that senses and amount of pressure applied to the system. Any ideas?

It was going to be just shy of a 1000 bucks. I'm going to do the work myself if I can find the parts at a good price.

What problem caused the ABS shop visit? ABS warning light on? ABS didn't seem to work properly? imp

Wife said the ABS light was coming on and off and the other day at a stop light it was pulsing so hard that it wouldn't hardly stop. When my old 97 did that it was just the wheel sensors. I realize that is a big year difference.

Got a code reader that reads ABS codes and start from there. It could be only the pressure switch (transducer) at the end of the master cylinder, an inexpensive part ~ $20.00

She was complaining that the front end was vibrating on th interstate. I took it for a drive and it turned out to be just the wheels out of balance.

I've notice the last couple of times that I've washed it the back wheels have a lot more brake dust on them. When I was getting off the interstate I hit the brakes hard to see how it was acting and it didn't nose dive at all. I'm thinking the front brakes aren't doing a whole lot and the rear I doing most of the work.

So is that a symptom of the ABS module or what?

Anybody???
